MSHL at UTmessan
MSHL will participate in UTmessan for the second year in a row, the largest festival for anyone interested in technology, held on February 6–7, 2026, in Harpa.
On February 6 at 13:00 in Norðurljós, Eiríkur Smári Sigurðarson, Chairman of MSHL, will give a presentation during the Conference Day on "Open Data, Open Culture: On the Future of Digital Humanities." The talk will address the opportunities inherent in open access to digital data regarding arts, culture, and history, as well as the challenges we face in making this a reality.
On February 7, the Tech Day, MSHL will have a booth. We will demonstrate how 3D scanning is used to preserve cultural heritage, introduce the cultural history database Sarpur, and provide VR glasses for visitors to try out. Tech Day is free and open to everyone, taking place from 11:00 to 16:00 in Harpa.
Love Data Week
The week of February 9-13 will be Love Data Week, an initiative of the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research. Universities and research institutions across the Nordic countries are collaborating to host Nordic Love Data Week, centring on the theme "Where’s the Data?" The aim is to promote awareness and best practices about research data management, data sharing, and data literacy across the Nordic region. The event is free and the schedule can be accessed here.
ANTIDOTE
The ANTIDOTE training network successfully hosted its second expert training week from January 19–23 at CNRS Lyon. Students and teachers from the seven partner institutions participated in the advanced training for digital editions of manuscripts. |
